Department of Science and Technology (DST)
The Department of Science and Technology (DST) is the University's reference structure in the cultural areas that study the Life Sciences, with particular reference to the areas of Biology, Earth Sciences, Biotechnologies and basic and applied disciplines to they are related.
The DST was born in 2013, due to the effect of law 240/2010, after approval of the new Statute of the University of Sannio, by the pre-existing Faculty of Sciences MM.FF.NN. and from the merger of the pre-existing Departments of Biological and Environmental Sciences and of Geological and Environmental Studies.
The DST promotes, coordinates and manages fundamental and applied research, training, technology transfer and services to the territory with reference to the scientific study of specific issues of both basic disciplines and disciplines strictly related to Biology, Geology and Environment with the development of a wide range of applications aimed at the territory and industry. In the cultural areas of competence, the DST organizes and manages training (Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, Research Doctorate, Masters) also with inter-university study courses.
