Collegial Bodies
Department Council
This is the governing body responsible for setting direction, planning, and overseeing the Department’s activities. It is composed of professors and researchers, elected representatives of the technical-administrative staff, and student representatives enrolled in Degree and PhD programs.
Degree Program Councils
These are the bodies responsible for guiding, planning, and monitoring the teaching activities of the Degree Programs. They are made up of tenured professors and researchers. Student representatives and the head of the administrative support structure for teaching also participate. Additionally, instructors in charge of teaching courses may be invited to attend meetings.
Teaching Committee
This committee makes proposals and gives opinions to ensure coordination of teaching activities. It consists of the Presidents of the Degree Program Councils and is chaired by the Department Director or a delegated representative.
Joint Faculty-Student Committee
This Committee provides evaluative opinions on teaching activities and makes improvement proposals, with particular attention to indicators assessing the quality and effectiveness of the educational offer. It gives opinions on the consistency between credits assigned to educational activities and the corresponding learning objectives. It monitors the educational offer, the quality of teaching, and student services. It also expresses opinions on the establishment, activation, and discontinuation of Degree Programs.
The committee is composed of an equal number of faculty members and students.
Research Committee
Chaired by the Department Director, this committee supports coordination and evaluation of research activities. It gives opinions and makes proposals for monitoring, quality assessment, and evaluation of research, as well as for implementing measures aimed at increasing both the quantity and quality of research output. It also provides evaluations of individual professors' and researchers’ scientific activities and organizational responsibilities.
The committee is composed of an equal number of full professors, associate professors, and researchers, all with strong academic records and appointed through an electoral process.
