Una Sera all'Opera with the Accademia di Santa Sofia
With "Una Sera all'Opera" the Accademia di Santa Sofia finally returns to Benevento and its live audience, for the first appointment of its new, rich and prestigious calendar, under the artistic direction of Filippo Zigante and Marcella Partziale and with the scientific advice of Marcello Rotili, Massimo Squillante and Aglaia McClintock.
The new highly anticipated 2022 Art Season will proudly proceed alongside the University of Sannio that will host from February to June nine of the eleven scheduled appointments in the Sant’Agostino Auditorium in Benevento and will take care of the brief scientific-cultural dissemination interventions, which will precede the concerts.
Therefore, on Saturday 19 February, at 7.00 pm the Chamber Orchestra Accademia di Santa Sofia in the beautiful setting of the Sant'Agostino Auditorium, will present "Una Sera all'Opera", a dive into some of the most famous and beloved melodies of our operatic heritage , opening with Giuseppe Verdi from transcription and reduction of his pupil Emanuele Muzio, and then continuing with Pietro Mascagni and Gioachino Rossini: Suite from "Luisa Miller", Prelude from "La Traviata", Intermezzo from "Cavalleria Rusticana", Guglielmo Tell (overture ), “La Gazza Ladra” (overture), “The Barber of Seville” (overture).
The concert will be preceded by a reflection on the theme: "Natural numbers: a key to Music and other mysteries" by Giacomo Di Tollo and Massimo Squillante.
For admission to all events, free and without reservation, a green pass is required.
