Luca De Vito

Luca De Vito achieved the MS degree in Computer Science with honors in 2001 from University of Sannio presenting a thesis dealing with automatic classification and characterization of digitally modulated signals.
Then, he joined the research activities carried out at the Laboratory of Signal Processing and Measurement Information of the University of Sannio, Benevento.
He achieved the PhD in Information Engineering in 2005, from the University of Sannio.
From June 2005 to February 2008 he worked for Telsey telecommunications S.p.A., as software engineer. In that, he dealt with software development for residential gateways.
In March 2008 he joined the Department of Engineering of the University of Sannio, as an Assistant Professor in Electric and Electronic Measurement.
He became Associate Professor of Electronic Measurement in the same Department in Jan. 2020.
In August 2018 he received the National Academic Qualification as Full Professor.

His main research interests include digital processing for measurement in telecommunications, data-converter testing, Wireless Sensor Networks and biomedical instrumentation.

He is member of the IEEE since 2010, he is member of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society (IMS), of the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic System Society, and of the IEEE Standards Association. He is Senior Member of the IEEE since 2012.
He is member of the Technical Committee 10 (TC-10), of the Technical Committee 25 (TC-25) of the Technical Committee 41 (TC-41) of the IEEE IMS. Within the activity of the TC-10, he contributed to the IEEE Std. 1241, published in 2010, to the IEEE Std. 1658, published in 2011, to the IEEE Std. 181, published in 2011, and to the IEEE Std. 2414, published in 2020, but he also participated the development of the IEEE Std. 1057-2007.
He is currently Chair of the DAC Subcommittee of the TC-10, working to the revision of the IEEE Std. 1658.

He member of the Armed Force Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and is Young President of the AFCEA Naples Charter.

He is member of the Technical Committee 4  (TC-4) of the IMEKO (International Measurement Conferderation).

He is Editor of the Measurement and Measurement:Sensors journals.

He has been Guest editor of the Special Issue of the 1st International Conference on Metrology for Archaeology on the Measurement journal, and Guest editor of the Special issues of the 2015 and 2016 IEEE International Symposium on Medical Measurements and Applications on the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (TIM) and Guest editor of the Special Issue of the 2nd International Conference on Metrology for Archaeology on the Measurement journal.
He is currently Guest Editor of the Special Issue of the 2020 IEEE Int. Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace on the IEEE Journal on Miniaturization for Air and Space Systems (J-MASS).

He is member of the Editorial Board of the ACTA IMEKO journal.
He serves as reviewer for the IEEE TIM, Measurement and ACTA IMEKO journals.

He received in 2017 the Faculty Course Development Award from the IEEE IMS for the proposal of a course titled “Measurement for Drone and Drone for Measurement”.

He has been Technical Program chair of the 20th IMEKO TC-4 International Symposium, held in Benevento, in 2014, and Technical Program co-chair of the 10th, 11th and 12th editions of the IEEE International Symposium on Medical Measurements and Applications (MeMeA), held in Turin in 2015, in Benevento in 2016 and in Rochester, MN, USA in 2017, respectively, and of the 1st IMEKO TC-4 International Workshop on Metrology for Geotechnics, held in Benevento in 2016.
Since 2017 he is Associate Technical Program Chair of the IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC).

He was tutorial instructor at the 2017, 2018, and 2019 IEEE I2MTC and at the 2017 IEEE MeMeA.

He has been member of the Technical Program Committee of the following congresses:

He was three times invited lecturer to the IMEKO TC-4 International Summer School on Data Acquisition Systems, held in Gävle, Sweden, in Prague, Czech Republic, and in Vilanova i la Geltru, Spain.

He published more than 160 papers on international journals and conference proceedings, mainly dealing with measurements for the telecommunications, data converter testing and biomedical instrumentation, by reaching outstanding results in particular about the automatic classification of digital modulations and the correction of ADC nonlinearities.

He has been involved in the didactical activities of the Department of Engineering of the University of Sannio, since 2004 as teacher of the following courses:
- Measurements for Computer Networks,
- Electronic Measurements for Energy and Environment
He actually teaches the following courses:
- Measurement on Networks, and
- Processing of Signals and Measurement Information

He participated to several national and international financed projects as researcher of the University of Sannio.
He is currently leading at the University of Sannio the project “ATTICUS: Ambient-intelligent Tele-monitoring and Telemetry for Incepting & Catering over hUman Sustainability”, funded by the Italian Ministry for University and Research.
