The University of Rome LUMSA held the grand final of the Marketing Award for the University. This is the oldest and most famous competition among Italian universities for the development of a marketing plan on a real case, organized by the Italian Marketing Society.
About 500 teams participated in the 31st "Caso Frecciarossa" edition, 17 were composed of Unisannio students. Of these, two teams were selected among the top 20 in Italy. In particular, the team composed by Marianna Zirollo, Laura Iadarola and Giancosimo Varricchio ranked in twelfth place, while the team composed of Selene Filippelli, Valerio Ventucci and Cosimo Della Gloria ranked in nineteenth place.
However, to give further luster to the flattering result, the Unisannio students, among the over one thousand students participating from all Italian universities, won the prize for the best mixed team. In fact, the award-winning team is composed of a student of the Master of Science in Business Economics and Management (Selene Filippelli), a student of the Master of Science in Electronic Engineering for Automation and Telecommunications (Valerio Ventucci) and from a student of the degree course in Business Economics (Cosimo Della Gloria). The team received the compliments of the president of the Italian Marketing Society Riccardo Resciniti of the University of Sannio and of the director of the Long Haul Passenger Division of Trenitalia Spa, Paolo Attanasio.
A success that unites the entire Sannio university, which has always played a leading role in this competition, as highlighted by prof. Angelo Riviezzo. It represents an excellent example of "active teaching" in which students are asked to apply the skills acquired in the classroom and to deal with the business reality. The university and, in particular, the degree course in Business Economics has been investing in this initiative for years, with a series of seminars and tutoring activities to support the participants.
