From next September the activities of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of Unisannio will take place between the building in via Calandra and the new building in via De Sanctis. Here is how they will be organized.
In particular, the educational activities of the three-year degree courses in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology and Geological Sciences (lectures, computer labs and educational laboratories for geological sciences) as well as classroom support / tutoring courses in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics will be held at the educational center in Via Nicola Calandra n. 4.
The curricular activities related to the educational laboratories for the degree courses in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology will be carried out at the research center of the DST in Via De Sanctis.
In Via Calandra, second level DST teaching activities will also be carried out, such as the Master's Degree Program in Biology, divided into two biosanitary and Food Resources and Nutrition curricula, the Master's Degree Program in Genetic and Molecular Biotechnology, the Degree Course. inter-university in agreement with the University of Naples "Federico II" and with the Research Institute Gaetano Salvatore - Biogem scar.l. in Ariano Irpino and the Master's Degree in Geological Sciences and Technologies.
The research laboratories at the Research Center of DST in Via De Sanctis will host the students of the aforementioned master's degree courses for thesis and internship activities.
In via Calandra there are the offices of Directorate, Administrative, Administrative and Educational Support and Support to Educational Laboratories of all DST study courses.
"The teaching and service organization for students for the next academic year - declares the director of the Department Maria Moreno - has seen the optimization of teaching times and the coordination between classroom activities and laboratory and field activities (for that concerning degree courses in geology). All this while waiting for the completion of the educational center in Via dei Mulini for the DST that will have classrooms, educational and IT laboratories and administrative offices.
The number of students attending DST courses - continues Professor Moreno - is high and the commitment of the University of Sannio in the realization of the Research Center and of the Educational Center for DST will be repaid in terms of satisfying the needs of training of our present and future students. In fact, the realization of the Research Center inaugurated on 4 July 2019, has already allowed all the teachers and technical-administrative personnel of the DST to implement the offer in terms of research and teaching services. Moreover, from the improvement of services, research activities in collaboration with foreign institutes also benefit from the PhD program in Science and Technology for the Environment and Health ".
