Unisannio engineers win the prizes of the Alta Scuola Politecnica
Unisannio engineering students were awarded prizes, when in July they participated in the Summer School of the Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP), born as a joint venture between Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo) and Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi). The summer school was held in Sestriere (TO) and the 9 students had taken part in the Government of Territorial Transformation course at the University of Sannio. Since 2004, the ASP Summer School has been reserved for 150 exceptionally talented Italian students, selected for merit among the candidates for master's degree programs in Engineering, Architecture and Design.
These are the students from Benevento selected by prof. Romano Fistola, Unisannio director for the ASP: Antonella Ambrosino; Debora De Duonni; Lorenzo De Marco; Francesco Di Menna; Martino Forgione; Marco Maio; Giuseppe Sampietro, Vincenzo Valentino, Piernicola Vella.
The students took part in the lessons in English on the topic: "Decision Making and Policy Design" and were engaged in a full agenda that included lectures, seminars, group work, using the specific skills acquired in the three-year degree course in Civil Engineering.
Organized in multidisciplinary groups, the students developed project proposals, built urban scenarios, developed strategies and outlined projects on a specific case study that this year was the city of Matera, the European capital of culture 2019.
At the end of the work week, Unisannio students won some important awards. In particular, the group of Martino Forgione won the prize for best project and therefore the title of the 2019 Summer School, the group of Debora De Duonni and the group of Giuseppe Sanpietro won the prize for the best presentation of the project proposal.
