In France, prof. Silvestri chairs the Agency Nationale pour la Recherche sur le SIDA (AIDS).
His scientific contributions mainly concern the pathogenesis, prevention and therapy of HIV. His interventions against the spread of pseudo-scientific fake news and against phenomena such as anti-vaccination and AIDS denial are significant.
