ISTRUZIONE E FORMAZIONE
- She obtained scientific high school diploma in July 2008 with a score of 97/100 at the I.I.S. "Enrico Fermi" of Montesarchio, Benevento.
- She obtained the bachelor degree in Energy Engineering at the Engineering Department of the University of Sannio on 15 December 2011 with 110/110, discussing a thesis in Environmental Control Technique entitled "Energy characterization of the building stock through georeferenced models ”, supervisor Prof. Giuseppe Peter Vanoli.
- She obtained the Master's Degree in Energy Engineering at the Engineering Department of the University of Sannio on 19 December 2014 with 110/110 cum laude discussing a thesis on Energy Saving in Building entitled "Energy efficiency in building: application of the Cost optimal to historic buildings for university use”, supervisors Prof. Filippo de' Rossi and Prof. Giuseppe Peter Vanoli.
- She obtained the title of PhD in Information Technologies for Engineering (Energy and Environment Curriculum) 31st Cycle, on 3 September 2019, at the University of Sannio, discussing the thesis “Numerical and experimental analysis of innovative materials and passive technologies for optimizing building envelope performance in Mediterranean climate”, supervisor Prof. Giuseppe Peter Vanoli. - She received the additional certification of "Doctor Europaeus" to the PhD title, according to the regulations of the CRUI and the European University Association (EUA), issued by the University of Sannio on 3 September 2019.
- She has excellent knowledge of the English language, classifiable between levels B2 and C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and she has the certificate of achievement of the exams related to level B2 of the ENGLISH CAMBRIDGE BULATS, achieved on 28/07/2018.
ACADEMIC CAREER
- She was awarded a scholarship for research activities within the scientific disciplinary sector ING-IND/11 (applied thermodynamic environmental sector) from 15 January to 15 April 2015, at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the Federico II University of Naples. The title of the research activity is: "Polygeneration systems serving urban sectors".
- She was awarded a scholarship for research activities within the scientific disciplinary sector ING-IND/10 (applied thermodynamic industrial sector) from 1 July to 16 November 2015, at the Department of Engineering of the University of Sannio. The title of the research activity is: “Micro cogeneration system”.
- She was the winner with scholarship of the PhD competition in Information Technologies for Engineering - 31st cycle, held in November 2015 at the University of Sannio.
- She was a "visiting researcher" at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Physics (Zografou Campus GR-157 80 Zografou, Athens, Greece), within the “Group of Building Environmental Research” coordinated by prof.ssa Margarita-Niki Assimakopoulos, from 19 January to 10 May 2018. The research carried out within the European project ProGETonE – Proactive synergy of inteGrated Efficient Technologies on buildings’ Envelopes” – concerned analysis of real case studies for the implementation of energy efficiency measures on the envelope-HVAC building system and the integration of renewable sources.
- She was the winner of a research grant within the scientific disciplinary sector ING-IND/11 (applied thermodynamic environmental sector) from 2 January 2019 to 2 January 2020, at the Engineering Department of the University of Sannio. The title of the research activity related to the fellowship is: " Integration of BIM tools and methodologies for the design of the envelope-HVAC building system".
- She was the winner of a research grant within the scientific disciplinary sector ING-IND/11 (applied thermodynamic environmental sector) from 2 March 2020 to 2 November 2020, at the Engineering Department of the University of Sannio. The title of the research activity related to the grant is: "Experimental analysis of innovative materials and technologies for the reduction of the primary energy demand of the envelope-HVAC building system".

ATTIVITÀ DIDATTICA
Silvia Ruggiero is part, as a subject expert, of examination commissions in Bachelor's and Master's degree courses, for different teachings of the scientific disciplinary sectors of Industrial applied thermodynamic (ING-IND/10) and Environmental applied thermodynamic (ING-IND/11) delivered at the University of Sannio and was co-supervisor of degree theses. She carried out teaching activities in the context of research projects and training courses on energy efficiency in buildings, promoted by training projects.

- She has been co-supervisor ans supervisor of numerous bachelor and master's degree theses at the Department of Engineering of the University of Sannio on topics related to energy saving in building, and she has been a member of Commissions for Graduation Exams.
- He carries out supplementary teaching activities and services to students as an expert on the subject on an ongoing basis:

- Energy saving in Buiding for Master's Degree in Energy Engineering of the University of Sannio;

- Air conditioning systems and bioclimatic building for Master's Degree in Civil Engineering of the University of Sannio.
