Mariano Gallo was born in 1969 and lives in Naples. E-Mail gallo [at] unisannio.it.

2.University training.
He graduated with honors in Civil Engineering section Transport, on 29/3/1995 at the University of Naples "Federico II".
Thesis in " Esercizio dei Sistemi di Trasporto " entitled " Metodologie per la redazione ed il controllo dei Piani Urbani di Traffico".

3.Titles.
From 16 January 2019 he is Full Professor of Transport (S.S.D. ICAR/05) at the University of Sannio, at the Department of Engineering.
From 1 November 2002 (confirmed as of 1 November 2005) to  15 January 2019 he was Associate Professor of Transport (S.S.D. ICAR/05) at the University of Sannio.
From 2 May 2001 to 30 October 2002 he was Assistant Professor of the ICAR 05 – Transport sector at the University of Naples "Federico II", at the Department of Transport Engineering "Luigi Tocchetti".
He obtained the title of PhD in "Transport Engineering" on 24/5/1999 with a thesis entitled " Progettazione all’equilibrio delle reti di trasporto stradale ", at the University of Rome "La Sapienza".

He obtained the qualification to practice the profession of Engineer on 17/7/1995.
He is a member of the Order of Engineers of the province of Naples since 25/9/1995.

8.Research activities.
He carried out research during the three years of the PhD in "Transport Engineering", relating to the Design of private transport networks in urban areas. The main results, in addition to being reported in the final thesis, have been presented at various international conferences and published in the relative proceedings.
He has also dealt with issues related to the design of local public transport networks, producing several works published in journals and presented at conferences.
In 1995 he collaborated with the Department of Transport Engineering of the University of Naples "Federico II" for the research commissioned by TELECOM - ITALY "Analysis of TLC applications and telematics associated with intermodal freight transport systems in the medium term".
He collaborated with the CNR Operating Unit on the Research Contract n. 97.00252.PF74 "Application of company analysis through indicators to the Collective Transport Company of Caserta. Corporate DSS methodology. " coordinated by prof. Bruno Montella. (1997–1998)
In 1998 he collaborated with the Department of Transport Engineering of the University of Naples "Federico II" in the research "The verification of the application of a design procedure on the collective transport network of the province of Caserta", within the Finalized Transport Project 2.
In 1999 he collaborated with the direction of CNR-PFT2 for the drafting of the book "Local Public Transport in Italy: analysis, perspectives and contributions of research".
